New Guinness World Record: Most Cereal Boxes Toppled as Dominoes

On October 12, 2023, an amazing new Guinness World Record was set using cereal boxes as dominoes, and for a fantastic cause! Taking place at the Henry Ford Detroit Pistons Performance Center in Michigan, the historical fundraising event was organized by Move For Hunger, a non-profit organization that mobilizes transportation networks to deliver surplus food to food banks and pantries across the United States and Canada. Domino Artists Steve Price and Mark Robbins designed the project under the Hevesh5 Domino Agency, and led a large team of volunteers who built and toppled a grand total of 12,952 cereal boxes! But this incredible feat was more than just a record-breaking spectacle - the event shined a light on the pressing issues of food insecurity and food waste in North America, and helped provide half a million meals to communities in need. After the topple, Kellogg’s and Kroger donated the cereal boxes, and for every serving, the United Dairy Industry of Michigan donated milk, which was all delivered to Forgotten Harvest and Gleaners Community Food Bank in Detroit. You can learn more about the initiative and join the fight against hunger and food waste by making a donation at topplehunger.com. I love to see dominoes being used to support a great cause - congratulations to everyone involved. Let’s topple hunger one domino at a time!
