100,000 DOMINOES TOPPLED IN GERMANY TO CELEBRATE THE HISTORY OF SPACE EXPLORATION

In November 2019 , 11 professional domino artists traveled to Germany to help with one of the biggest domino events of 2019: a project using 100,000 dominoes! The setup was themed around the history of space exploration, and included projects such as the Apollo 11 moon landing, NASA, the original moon-landing mission patch, rockets, and more. The event was organized and coordinated by German domino artist Jonathan Hofinger (Jaytar42), and built by a great team comprised of Alexandra Benz (DominoERDMANN), Jonathan Bahr (TheRealMcJoni), Justin Kühn (Linux5324), Marcel Pürrer (Austrian Domino Art), Marco Vorbusch, Pim Vriens, and William Ford (all with DutchDominoTeam), Samuel Möhler (ludominosa), Tobias Demuth (midobo), and me (Hevesh5). The project journeys through three main parts in the timeline of space exploration: The Apollo 11 mission (Countdown, Ignition, Launch), Remembrances (Constellations, Telescope, Observatory), and Back to Real Time (Mission Patch, Landing Trajectory, Splashdown). “Traveling through space has always fascinated people, and so have toppling dominoes,” said Hofinger, “The 50th anniversary of the moon landing was the perfect opportunity to combine the two. Thanks to an amazing team of 11 international builders we were able to create one of the most beautiful events I ever attended.” The falldown was spectacular and reached the end without stopping! I highly recommend checking it out below if you haven't seen it already - it's quite an artistic setup.
